Refund & Returns Policy
Last updated: 30 October 2026
We sell living things, so returning them works differently from returning a shirt. This page sets out exactly what is covered, what is not, and how to make a claim. The short version: you have 30 days from delivery, and damaged or misdescribed bulbs are replaced or refunded without you having to post anything back.
If you would rather read the friendly version, with examples of what usually goes wrong and how each case is settled, it is on Refunds & Replacements.
The 30-day guarantee
Every bulb, corm and tuber is inspected by hand before it leaves us. If it arrives damaged, mouldy, soft, short-counted or simply not what you ordered, tell us within 30 days of the delivery date and we will replace it or refund it — whichever you prefer. The 30 days start on the day the parcel is delivered, not the day you ordered.
What is covered
- Damage in transit. Crushed, split, soft or mouldy bulbs. Photograph them in the packaging if you still have it.
- Wrong variety sent. We ship the correct one at our cost, and you keep what arrived.
- Short count. Fewer bulbs than the label says. This is our packing error and it is the easiest claim to settle.
- Bulbs that never sprout. If a bulb fails to emerge in its first season, we replace it. A photograph of the planting area and your order number is enough.
- Non-plant goods such as gift boxes — returnable within 30 days if unopened and in their original condition.
What is not covered
- Bulbs planted outside their hardiness zone, or in ground that stays waterlogged.
- Frost damage after shoots have appeared, or bulbs dug up by animals.
- Bulbs stored somewhere warm and damp instead of cool and dry before planting.
- Bulbs that were planted and then lifted again, or kept in a bag for months past the planting window.
- Claims made more than 30 days after delivery — though if something is plainly our fault, write to us anyway and we will look at it.
We do not charge a restocking fee, and there is no handling charge to deduct: shipping is free on every order, so there is nothing to withhold.
How to make a claim
- Photograph the bulbs, and the packaging if you still have it.
- Email flowerplantshop1@gmail.com with your order number in the subject line.
- Say whether you would rather have a replacement or a refund.
We reply within one business day. There is no form to fill in, no return authorisation number, and no need to send damaged bulbs back — postage on dead plant material is a waste of everyone’s money.
Refunds
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within three business days of approval. Your bank or card issuer may take a further five to ten business days to show the credit; that delay is theirs, not ours, but tell us if it has not appeared after ten and we will chase it with the processor.
If a delivery failed because of an error on our side — wrong address entered by us, a parcel returned as undeliverable through no fault of yours — we cover the cost of putting it right.
Replacements
Replacements ship in the next dispatch window for that variety, which for seasonal bulbs means the planting season rather than the week you claimed. We will tell you the date rather than leaving you to guess, and you can switch to a refund at any point before the replacement is packed.
Late, lost or missing deliveries
Standard delivery is three to seven business days after dispatch. If tracking has not moved for five business days, or shows delivered when nothing arrived, write to us within seven days of the expected date. We open the trace with the carrier ourselves rather than asking you to do it, and if the parcel cannot be found we replace the order. The full dispatch and packaging picture is on Shipping & Unpacking.
If a claim does not go the way you expected
Reply to the same email thread and say so. The owner reads those messages, and a decision can be looked at again by someone other than the person who made it. Please write to us before opening a payment dispute: a chargeback freezes the money for weeks and resolves more slowly than we do.
