Why Buy from Us
Grown for gardeners, not for warehouses
Flower Bulb Shop exists for one reason: to get healthy, correctly graded bulbs into your hands at the moment they should be planted. Everything below follows from that.
1. Hand grading, not machine grading
Every lot is graded by size and inspected for firmness, mould and damage before it is packed. A bulb that would not flower reliably in our own beds does not go into your box. This is slower than sorting by machine, and it is the single biggest reason our bulbs perform.
2. Shipped at planting time, not order time
Spring-flowering bulbs ordered in August are not posted in August. They are held at controlled temperature and dispatched when soil temperatures in your zone are right for planting. You receive dormant, firm bulbs ready to go into the ground – not bulbs that have spent six weeks in a warm parcel depot.
3. Varieties matched to your climate
Every product page lists the USDA zones a variety performs in, plus chilling requirements for warm-climate gardeners. If a tulip needs twelve weeks of pre-chilling in zone 9, we say so before you buy rather than after it fails to bloom.
4. A replacement guarantee that means something
If a bulb arrives soft, mouldy, damaged or simply not what you ordered, contact us within seven days with your order number and a photograph and we will replace it or refund it. No return shipping, no restocking fee, no argument.
5. Growing advice from people who plant
Our growing guides cover planting depth, spacing, chilling, forcing and storage in plain language. If your question is not answered there, email us – a real person replies within one business day.
6. No inflated catalogue
We list what we can actually ship, in the quantities we can actually supply. If something sells out, it shows as sold out rather than as a backorder that quietly slips by three months.
